Christian Services was started by Mrs. Helen Warren who was a member of the Church of Lancaster in South Carolina.  Mrs. Warren was inspired to link those with financial and physical resources to those who were in need. Clients were matched up with donors to receive financial assistance, food, clothing, and household items. In October of 2004, Christian Services became incorporated and received its 501(C)3 determination from the IRS in April of 2005.  Under the direction of Jody Miles for 20 years, and Eric Kramer since 2011, the organization has grown from a small group of women helping people in the backroom of a store front to a major non-profit organization in Lancaster, South Carolina.
